The 59-acre East Gate Park is a nature-lover's dream, a gorgeous amalgamation of woodland habitats, grassy shorelines, and the burbling Tinker Creek. Birders are especially drawn to the park, flocking from around the world to view such winged beasts as the Broad-winged Hawk, the Eastern Kingbird, and the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron. East Gate Park lies slightly to the north of downtown, near Thrasher Park.
